SimpleRSS - plugin for CMSimple

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication", it's a format for distributing and gathering content from sources across the Web. The aim of this plugin is to render RSS Feeds from remote servers, e.g. from Yahoo or other news sources.

Installation & Setting up simplerss

  • If not integrated yet, you need the plugin loader from http://cmsimpleplugins.svarrer.dk.
  • Download the simplerss plugin from www.cycronic.de/dev/cmsimple.
  • Install the plugin. Copy everything to your plugin folder. Set the normal write permissions in the config, css, languages subfolders
  • Go to the administration of the simplerss plugin and configure your RSS feeds you want to render. Be sure, that if you want to render more than one feed, they should be separated by comma without spaces!

    Make a page and add #CMSimple $output.=showrss("number");# to the page between heading and actual text. Instead of the example "number" you will place the number of the rss source. You can add sources through admin interface."

    Troubleshooting

  • Make sure, that you don't have any spaces between sources in your configuration file

  • Have a look into your phpinfo() file. If the function psockopen is disabled in your php.ini, you cannot run this plug in.
